WAKEFIELD, Mass. - For the second time this season, Providence College junior goaltender Nick Ellis (Millersville, Md.) has been named the Stop It Hockey East Goaltender of the Month in an announcement made by Hockey East on Wednesday (March 2).

After earning the honor in December, Ellis once again shined during the month of February as he led the entire NCAA with a 7-0-0 record, a 1.23 GAA, and .952 save percentage. He surrendered just eight goals in seven games, while turning away 158-of-166 shots on goal.

The Friars swept the final eight Hockey East contests of the season to earn their first ever share of the Hockey East regular season title. In league games this year, he has posted an impressive 1.82 GAA and .936 save percentage. For his efforts thus far in 2015-16, Ellis was named a nominee for the 2016 Mike Richter Award, given to the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA men's hockey.

The No. 3/4 Friars will return to action on March 11 when they will kick off their Hockey East Quarterfinal best-of-three series at Schneider Arena against an opponent to be determined.
