Scouting the Wildcats
The Wildcats are 3-8-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the BIG EAST heading into Thursday's match after a win over Creighton University (3-1) on Oct. 2. Freshman Kristin Barbour leads the Wildcats on six goals and one assist for 13 points on the season. Barbour was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Oct. 3 after she scored two of the Wildcats goals in the 3-1 victory over Creighton on Oct. 2.
Senior goalkeeper Emmalee Meyer has recorded 32 saves over the course of 619:01 minutes of play during the 2016 season. Meyer's posts a 2.47 goals against average and a .653 save percentage.
Scouting the Friars
Heading into Thursday's match, the Friars are 8-3-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in BIG EAST play. The Friars defeated reigning 2015 BIG EAST Champion Butler University, 2-1 on Oct. 2. Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) and senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) continue to dominate the Friars attack, each with 13 points on the season. Hiller ranks fifth in the BIG EAST on six goals and one assist during the 2016 campaign. Ugolik notched her fifth goal of the season against Butler to lift the Friars to a 1-0 victory.
The Friars have outscored opponents over the last 13 competitions, 22-12. Eight other Friars have tallied goals on the season including Juliana Pellegrini (3), Casey Estey (2), Jill Clapp (2), Katie Day (2), Samantha Nelbok (1), and Christina Klaum (1).
Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) leads the BIG EAST with 63 saves on the season. Shea has earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week three times during the 2016 season and has been awarded the honor consecutive weeks (Sept. 26 and Oct. 3). She ranks second in the BIG EAST in shutouts (7). The goalkeeper posts a 0.87 goals against average and a .840 save percentage.
Season Awards
Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) earned her third BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award of the 2016 season as announced by the league. Shea finished the weekend 2-0, after a win over Xavier University, 2-1, and a 1-0 win over 2015 BIG EAST Champions Butler University.
Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after a shutout against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University.
Sept. 19: Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 weekend with Friar victories over Central Connecticut on Sept. 15 (3-1) and Massachusetts on Sept. 18 (3-0). The forward was tied for most points on the weekend in the BIG EAST on two goals and two assists.
Sept. 5: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week after a shutout weekend against both Boston University and Colgate University.
Sept. 5: Junior Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y) received BIG EAST honor roll recognition after scoring three of the Friars' seven goals on the weekend.
Aug. 29: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring both of the Friars' goals against Northeastern and Maine, respectively.
Aug. 22: Sophomore Katie Day (East Hampstead, N.H.) earned BIG EAST Honor Roll after notching her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute against then, No. 10 Rutgers.

The Friars will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. when they host the Marquette Golden Eagles in Providence, R.I. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
