Five Men's Hockey Players Participate In NHL Prospect Camps

Five current players on the Providence College men's hockey team participated in National Hockey League (NHL) prospect camps this summer. Defensemen Mark Adams (Buffalo Sabres), Myles Harvey (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Daniel New (New Jersey Devils), as well as forwards Tim Schaller (Chicago Blackhawks) and Rem Vanderbeek (New Jersey Devils) all took part in the week-long camps.
Adams, a 2009 fifth-round draftee of the Buffalo Sabres, will be entering his sophomore season at Providence. He played in 33 games as a freshman and recorded three assists. Harvey is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound blue liner who played in all 34 games during his sophomore season. He totalled two assists. New is one of the top defensemen on the team. He played in every game and amassed six assists last season as a junior.
Schaller also played in every game in his second season with the Friars. He recorded career highs in goals (5), assists (14) and points (19). Vanderbeek rounds out the list of prospect camp participants. Vanderbeek played in four games as a sophomore and recorded one assist.
