First Lieutenant Daniel J. Marusak and First Lieutenant Denis Campbell portraying their Friar Pride half a world away. Both young men have earned Combat Infantry badges which is awarded for meritorious conduct in combat. This photo was taken this year in Kunar when they got together for the 1st time since graduation from Providence College. Despite everything else going on around them in their young lives, their pride in Providence College is evident in this picture.
Marusak is now serving with the 182nd (Mass. National Guard) Infantry Regiment US Army. He is currently stationed at an outpost in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Dan is also a recent PC Alumnus, and is a graduate of the PC ROTC Program .
One of Murask's best friends and PC college room-mate, 1st Lieutenant Denis Campbell(2nd Battallion, 27th Army Infantry Regiment), is also serving in a combat infantry unit at a different location in Kunar Province . (Dan and Denis both served as ROTC honor guardsmen at several PC basketball games during their matriculation at PC.)
