PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics Director Robert G. Driscoll inducted 59 student-athletes into the department's Letter-Winner's Society on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. The induction was comprised of student-athletes who participated in winter and spring sports at the College. The Letter-Winner's Society was introduced to the campus community on December 4, 2003 as Driscoll unveiled a new tradition with the first induction ceremony involving 67 student-athletes who participated in fall sports. During the ceremony, each student-athlete received a lettermen's jacket.

The Letter-Winner's Society holds two inductions each academic year to honor student-athletes who have met the criteria to earn a lettermen's jacket. A specific criteria has been developed for each sport by the head coaches and athletic department administrators.
