Providence College Athletics Hosts Letter-Winner's Society Induction

Providence College Athletics inducted 23 student-athleters into the department's "Letter-Winner's Society" on Friday, December 5, 2008. The induction was for athletes who participated in fall sports. The "Letter-Winner's Society" was introduced to the campus community on December 4, 2003 as Athletics Director Robert G. Driscoll unveiled a new tradition with the first induction ceremony involving 67 student-athletes who participated in fall sports. During the ceremony, each student-athlete received a letterman's jacket.
The "Letter-Winner's Society" holds two inductions each academic year to honor student-athletes who have met the criteria to earn a letterman's jacket. Specific criteria has been developed for each sport by the head coach and athletic department adminstrators.
