Newark, N.J. - The Providence College volleyball team lost to Howard, 3-1, in the team's final match of the NJIT Halloween Classic. The Bison won the match with game scores of 21-25, 27-25, 25-21 and 25-15. With the win, Howard moves to 14-17, while the Friars fall to 14-15. Providence finishes the tournament with a 1-2 record.
Senior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) paced the Friar attack with 17 kills, hitting at a .343 clip. Leading the Friar defense was senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) with 14 digs. Freshman Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.) was solid in defeat, recording seven kills and five total blocks.
Providence next plays on Saturday, November 8 with a 1:00 p.m. home match against Quinnipiac in Mullaney Gymnasium. Prior to the match, Providence's five seniors will be honored for their contributions to the program.
