Former Friar Hockey Player Colin McDonald Signs NHL Contract

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Former Providence College men's hockey player Colin McDonald (Wethersfield, Conn.) signed a two-year NHL contract with the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, July 17. McDonald was selected by the Oilers in the second round (51st overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

McDonald, who recently graduated from PC with a bachelor's degree in management, finished his career at PC with 43 goals and 34 assists for 77 points. A two-time co-captain, he led the Friars with a career-high 13 goals during his senior season.
