HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Providence College volleyball team (5-21) closed out the 2004 season with a 3-0 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson (9-17) this evening by the score of 3-0. Fairleigh Dickinson won by scores of 30-20, 30-21 and 30-27.
Senior captain Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) ended her collegiate career with a game-high 17 kills and five digs. Classmate Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) added 10 digs in her Friar finale, while senior Gayle Malachowski (Warwick, R.I.) had five digs and one kill.
Junior setter Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) posted her ninth double-double of the season with team-leading totals of 15 assists and 12 digs.
FDU tallied a 13.5-to-5.0 edge in blocks which helped lead them to their ninth win of the year. Providence College volleyball has ended its 2004 season.
