PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's hockey team is ranked 14th in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll and 15th in the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll. In both polls, which were released on Monday, February 24, Colorado College and Cornell are ranked first and second, respectively.
The Friars, who have not been ranked since December 2 when they were No. 15 in the USCHO.com poll, posted a 1-0-1 record last week versus Boston University. The Friars have not lost in their last seven games, posting a 5-0-2 record, including three wins and two ties versus ranked teams. On Friday, February 21, the Friars defeated the Terriers, 5-4, in overtime on a short-handed game winner by senior Jon DiSalvatore (S. Windsor, Conn.). On Saturday, February 22, the Friars skated to a 3-3 overtime tie with versus the Terriers.
The Friars complete their regular season schedule on Friday, February 28 versus UMass Lowell at Schneider Arena.
