Providence, R.I. -- The Providence College Volleyball team swept the College of Holy Cross, 3-0 (15-7, 15-7, 15-4), on Tuesday, September 12.
Junior Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.) led the Friars with 11 kills and 14 digs, while junior Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) recorded 10 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore Susan Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.) registered 35 assists for PC.
Holy Cross was paced by Kerri Blumenuaer, who had three kills and five digs, and Cheryl Jakielo, who posted two kills, eight digs and two service aces.
Providence is now 7-1 overall and returns to action on Friday, September 15, when they take on the University of Alabama and DePaul University in the first round of the DePaul Inviational.
