GEORGETOWN TOPS FRIARS, 3-1, IN BIG EAST VOLLEYBALL
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College volleyball team dropped a BIG EAST Conference volleyball match on Saturday, October 21st against Georgetown, 3-1, at Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. The Hoyas (13-8 overall/3-2 BE) defeated the Friars (15-9 overall/1-4 BE) by the scores of 15-12, 13-15, 15-5 and 15-6.
Georgetown sophomore Lauren Warner paced the Hoyas with a team-high 14 kills and added seven defensive digs and two blocks. Teammates Anna Kleinsorge and Meg Troller each added 12 kills in the victory.
The Friars were led by junior outside hitter Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.), who totalled a game-high 21 kills and added 15 digs in the loss. Classmate Annie Cella added 10 kills for Providence as the only other player with double-digit kills.
The Friars return to action in a BIG EAST Conference match against Villanova University on Sunday, October 22nd in Mullaney Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m.
