Friars Legends Golf Outing Rescheduled

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Sixth Annual Friar Legends Golf Outing supporting the Friar Foundation originally scheduled for June 15, has been rescheduled to Monday, July 27 at the Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, Mass.
Six former Providence College women's hockey players and one current Friar will be honored as Friar Legends.
All seven were named to the 1998 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Squad on December 20, 1997. The athletes were part of a 20-player squad that represented the U.S. at the XVIII Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. The seven PC players that earned a spot on the U.S. Team were Chris Bailey ('94, Marietta, N.Y.), Laurie Baker (Concord, Mass.), Alana Blahoski ('96, St. Paul, Minn.), Lisa Brown-Miller ('88, Union Lake, Mich.), Sara DeCosta ('00, Warwick, R.I.), Cammi Granato ('93, Downers Grove, Ill.) and Vicki Movsessian ('94, Lexington, Mass.). Two of the former Friars named to the team, Granato and Brown-Miller, hold the distinct honor of being the only women in the country to have played on every U.S. National Team since its inception in 1990.
Past honorees include: Joe Mullaney, Lenny Wilkens, Mike Riordan, Vin Ernst, Lou Lamoriello, Ernie DiGregorio and Chris Terreri.
Foursomes and tee sign sponsorships are still available. Entry fee is $175 per person which includes lunch, awards, cocktails, dinner and a chance to play a hole with head men's hockey coach Paul Pooley and new head men's basketball coach Tim Welsh.
