Kevin Kurbec started his current position at Providence College as associate athletic director for men’s and women’s basketball in July of 2023.
In this role, Kurbec oversees the day-to-day operations of both the men’s & women’s basketball programs and is the liaison between both programs and the BIG EAST Conference for scheduling and other matters. Kurbec also serves as the main point of contact between Providence College and NIKE for the college’s apparel contract, oversees NIL activities for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, and is a member of the athletics executive team reporting to the athletic director. He also is the sport administrator for the men's lacrosse program.
Prior to his current position, Kurbec served as director of men’s basketball operations (2015-23) and as associate director of player development and video operation (2011-15) at Providence College. He has also previously served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Bryant University (2008-11). Kurbec started his career at Providence College as coordinator of men’s basketball operations (2005-08). Kurbec also has been a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for 21 years.
Kurbec graduated from Providence College in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in accountancy and a minor in finance. While an undergraduate, Kurbec served as a four-year manager of the men’s basketball team. He then completed his MBA in 2004 while serving as a graduate assistant for men’s basketball.
Kurbec is originally from Smithfield, R.I., and currently resides in Cumberland R.I. with his wife, Melissa, his daughters, Kyra and Caylee, and son Cameron.
