Men’s Golf Claims PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award

The Friars received Presidents Special Recognition for a GPA above 3.50.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's golf team was named a recipient of the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday (Aug. 5).
 
A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award in 2025-26. Of those, 155 programs received Presidents Special Recognition for achieving a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. The Friars earned Presidents Special Recognition after posting a 3.59 cumulative team GPA.
 
The Friars return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12, when they open the 2026-27 season at the Doc Gimmler Invitational at Bethpage State Park Red Course in Bethpage, N.Y.
