OCALA, FLA. – The Providence College swimming & diving programs competed on the second day of the 2026 BIG EAST Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Feb. 19 in Ocala, Fla.
Six members of the women's program advanced to the evening finals in their respective events. A trio of Friars appeared in the finals for the 500-yard freestyle as
Elizabeth Burke posted a 14
th-place finish in a time of 5:02.93.
Rory Sheridan placed 20
th (5:06.78), followed by
Kendall Eby in 23
rd (5:14.44). In the 200-yard IM,
Lauren Wagner finished 24
th with a time of 2:08.63.
Olivia Johanns (22
nd, 24.51) and
Rylie Foley (24
th, 24.63) competed in the finals of the 50-yard free.
To finish off the night, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Rylie Foley,
Olivia Johanns,
Madelyn Harvey and
Bella Lombard finished seventh in a time of 1:37.11.
On the men's side,
Jake Stachowicz and
Nathan Thayer each advanced to the evening finals session in the 50-yard freestyle. Stachowicz claimed 15
th place in a time of 21.16. Thayer finished 16
th with a time of 21.23.
Results for the men's 200-yard free relay featured a fourth-place finish for the Friars. The team was comprised of
Nathan Thayer,
Kieran Duffy,
Thomas Bowers and
Jake Stachowicz, who completed the event with a time of 1:23.69.
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will resume competition on Friday, Feb. 20. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals are set for 5:45 p.m.
