No. 14 Men's Hockey Completes Sweep of No. 12/13 Boston College With 4-3 Victory On Saturday Night

Tanner Adams and Julius Sumpf each recorded two points for Providence.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 14 Providence College men's hockey team completed a weekend sweep over No. 12/13 Boston College with a 4-3 victory at Schneider Arena on Saturday (Jan. 17) at Schneider Arena. It was Providence's first weekend sweep over Boston College since 2002.

NOTES

- The Friars exploded for three goals in the opening period to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room.

- John Mustard netted his team-high ninth goal of the season, finishing off a rebound from Graham Gamache at the 3:36 mark.

- After PC's Hudson Malinoski was assessed five-minute major and game misconduct, BC's Andre Gasseau re-directed a shot from James Hagens to tie the game at 7:00.

- Tanner Adams reclaimed the lead for Providence with a power-play goal, his sixth of the season on assists from Julius Sumpf and Will Elger.

- Jonathan Fauchon extended the lead to 3-1 at 17:10 with his seventh goal of the season. Roger McQueen and Kale McCallum earned the assists on the play.

- Logan Sawyer deposited his second goal of the weekend and ninth of the season to extend the Friar lead to 4-1. Sumpf and Adams earned the assists on the player.

- The Eagles got back within two with a 5-on-3 goal from Ryan Conmy at 15:41 of the second period.

- The Friars' Quinn Mantei was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct with 3:47 left in regulation to put the Eagles on the power play.

- Luka Radivojevic scored five seconds into the power play to cut the Providence lead to 4-3.

- The Providence defense and Jack Parsons stood tall to kill off the final minutes of the major to secure the win.

- The Friars have accumulated 11 league points over the last two weekends.

- Providence earned its first weekend sweep over Boston College since 2002.
