PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Aleksi Kivioja scored the game-winning goal with 2:41 remaining in regulation as the No. 11 Providence College men's hockey team extended its winning streak to five games with a 4-3 win over No. 18 Boston University on Friday (Jan. 23) at Schneider Arena.

NOTES
- The Friars capitalized on a pair of early power plays going two-for-two on the first man-advantages of the game.
- On the first power play, Logan Sawyer netted the team-leading 10 goal of the season with assists from John Mustard and Roger McQueen at 7:00 to put the Friars up 1-0.
- Hudson Malinsoki scored with a between-the-legs re-direct on the second power play, assisted by Will Elger and Julius Sumpf at 11:32, to make the game 2-0.
- The Friars killed off two BU power plays to end the period, and a third to begin the second.
- Cole Eiserman scored for Boston University at 3:14 and was assisted by Brandon Svoboda to cut the Friar lead to 2-1.
- Through the first two periods Providence only allowed 10 total shots from BU, with the help of 11 blocked shots.
- The Terriers tied the game at the beginning of the third period (0:28) with a goal from Tynan Lawrence to even the score at 2-2.
- Providence's Clint Levens was granted a penalty shot, where his low-blocker shot was saved by Mikhail Yegorov at the 5:52 mark of the third period.
- On a two-on-one rush, Friar goalie Jack Parsons make a sliding cross-crease save on Eiserman to keep the game tied at 2-2.
- On the ensuing Providence possession, Kale McCallum took the 3-2 lead with a strong drive to the net with the assist from Graham Gamache at 11:40.
- Eiserman tied the game back up at 3-3 with a quick goal off an offensive zone faceoff.
- Providence re-gained the lead for good at 4-3 with a cross-crease give-and-go, between Clint Levens and Aleksi Kivioja for his fourth goal of the season.
- The Friars scored multiple power-play goals for the second game in a row.
- Providence extended its winning streak to five games and have won eight of nine overall.
