NOTES

- Providence outshot Maine 12-4 in an opening period which ended in a scoreless tie.

- The Friars scored their first shorthanded goal of the season 9:21 into the second to take a 1-0 lead. Josh Maine's Nadeau was stymied on a zone entry at the blue line by both Donovan McCoy and Alexander Bales. Tanner Adams proceeded to collect the loose puck in his own end. He broke in alone on Rousseau and buried a shot inside the right post.

- Providence doubled its lead at 7:56 of the third on a giveaway by the Black Bears in their own end. Lukas Peterson flipped the puck into the slot from behind the Maine net, where it was intercepted by Aleksii Kivioja. He skated through the right circle before taking the puck to his backhand and lifting a shot into the top left corner for his second of the season.

- The Friars capped the scoring with a PP goal late in the third as Will Elger fed Andrew Centrella for his second of the season at 16:11. Jonathan Fauchon was credited with the second assist on the goal.

- Parsons' shutout was the first for the Friars this season.

- The Friars earned their first two-game sweep over Maine since 2022 and the first shutout win over the Black Bears since Oct. 5, 2019.
