Friars complete first ever women’s golf tournament.
CANTON, Mass. – The Providence College women's golf team wrapped up the two-day Boston College Red Bandanna Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. The Friars finished 14th in the 15-team field with a score of 1,016 (+152). Sophomore Gwendolyn Yarnall (East Aurora, N.Y.) led Providence, tying for 40th overall at 237 (+21).
Boston College climbed past Dartmouth College on the final day to win the team title at 886 (+22). Providence shot 334 in the opening round, 343 in round two and 339 in the final round.
Yarnall recorded rounds of 78-79-80 for a 237 (+21), tallying six birdies across 54 holes. The sophomore made three in the opening round, two in the second and one in the final round. Freshmen Myla Bisceglia (Rye, N.Y.), Samantha Dunn (Berlin, Conn.) and Prisha Pandey (Edison, N.J.) each tallied two birdies over the three rounds.
