Two Friars Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors For Lacrosse

Ryan Bell and Jack Horrigan named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Providence, R.I. - Providence College men's lacrosse players Ryan Bell (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Jack Horrigan (Lutherville, Md.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors on Monday, April 28. Both seniors were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following the team's 16-10 win over St. John's (April 25).  

Bell tied his career-high with eight points on two goals and six assists in the team's victory on Saturday. With Bell's sixth assist in the fourth quarter, he set a new single-season assist record of 46, breaking his own previous mark of 45. This season, Bell leads the Friars with 61 points on 15 goals and 46 assists. The Friars' all-time leading scorer has registered 231 career points (66 goals / 165 assists) and is the first player in program history to reach 200 points. Bell is also the program's all-time assist leader (165 assists). This week's selection marks Bell's fourth time this season being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (2/3, 2/10, 3/10, 4/28).  

Horrigan recorded a career-high seven goals in the Friars' win on Saturday. Horrigan leads the Friars in goals this season with 41. The senior has recorded 138 career points (114 goals / 24 assists) and is tied for 14th on the Friars' all-time scoring list. Horrigan's 114 career goals rank third in all-time at Providence. This week's selection marks Horrigan's fourth time this season being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (3/17, 3/31, 4/22, 4/28). 

WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars clinched the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Tournament and will face No. 2-seed Villanova on Thursday, May 1. Faceoff is set for 9:00 pm (ET) on CBS Sports Network.
