PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Hockey East announced on Monday (Dec. 1) that Providence College senior Philip Svedebäck (Växjö, Sweden) was named Stop It Goaltending's Hockey East Goaltender of the Week.
Svedebäck turned away 67-of-71 shots he faced in a two-game series at Colorado College last weekend, posting a 2.04 GAA and .944 save percentage. He registered a season-high 37 saves in the Friars' 2-1 victory on Saturday night. In 14 games for the Friars in 2025-26, he has posted a 6-5-1 record with a 2.31 GAA and .918 save percentage.
The No. 16 Friars are idle this upcoming weekend before closing out the first semester against Brown in the annual Mayor's Cup game on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Meehan Auditorium.
