Friars dropped their first game of the season Sunday afternoon.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College women's soccer team was defeated by the University of Wisconsin Badgers, 2-0, on Sunday, August 25 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The Friars are now 2-1-0 in regular season play.

GAME FLOW AND NOTES  

- Ashley Martinez scored nine minutes into the game to give the Badgers the early 1-0 lead. Her goal was assisted by Maia Richters and Aryssa Mahrt.   

- Dara Andringa scored off a corner kick in the 77th minute to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead. Her goal was assisted by Tuscany Khachab.   

- Kacey Lawrence (Monroe, Conn.) recorded two shots on goal, while Corinne Dente (Stamford, Conn.) and Caitlyn Gratton (Hamilton, Ont.) each contributed one shot on goal for the Friars.   

- Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) and Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) each made three saves and surrendered one goal for the Friars.
