PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The NCAA released the 2022-23 Academic Progress Rate report on Tuesday (June 4). Eight Providence College teams posted perfect multi-year rates of 1,000. Men's swimming and diving, men's track, women's cross country, field hockey, women's hockey, women's tennis, women's track and women's volleyball all posted a perfect APR.

Other Providence College teams' APR scores were: men's hockey (994), women's basketball (994), women's soccer (993), women's swimming and diving (993), men's lacrosse (992), men's cross country (989), softball (984), men's basketball (982) and men's soccer (971).
The minimum APR academic standard for each team is 930. Typically, teams that scored below the benchmark would have to face penalties that encourage an emphasis and prioritization on academics. However, due to the current penalty suspension in place, teams will not be subjected to penalties this year.
The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in each sport. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.
