Five Friars set personal records.

BOSTON, Mass.- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed in Boston, Mass. at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10. Five of the Friar men set personal records.

Running unattached, Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) ran a personal record in the 3,000 meters of 7:52.52. Following Laadjel was Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) in a personal record time of 7:56.01, Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) in 7:57.25, Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) in 7:57.82, DJ Principe (Johnston, R.I.) in 8:07.36 and Grady Satterfield (Bowdoinham, Maine) ran a personal record of 8:25.85.

Will Johnston (Auckland, New Zealand) marked a personal record in the 1,000 meters with a 2:23.81 time.

In the 800 meters, Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) ran a 1:52.87 and Tyler Bartlett (Fairfield, Conn.) marked a personal record of 1:53.67.

Jon Mignacca (Seekonk, Mass.) reached a mark of 1.96 meters in the high jump to place second.

Shane Coffey (Naas, Ireland) finished the 5,000 meters in 14:14.80, followed by Luke Coffin (Annapolis, Md.) in a time of 14:33.04.

The Friars compete next at the Boston University Terrier DMR Challenge on Friday, Feb. 16 in Boston, Mass.
