NOTES

- The Friars penalty was the story in the first period as they killed off all three UNH power-play opportunities, including 1:09 of 5-on-3 play.

- Borgiel kept the game scoreless with a stellar pad stop on Nick Ring.

- Shots were even at 10-10 through 20 minutes.

- Will Elger broke the ice at 3:22 of the second period with his fourth goal in as many games. Elger found a seam through traffic after picking up his own rebound. Braiden Clark and Clint Levens were credited with the assists on the play.

- Borgiel continued his brilliant performance in the third period, stopping an additional 15 Wildcat attempts. His performance was highlighted by a sprawling glove on Cy LeClerc and a denial on a clean breakaway by Liam Devlin.

- The Friars got the insurance they were looking for as Logan Will banked a shot past Whale at the 5:24 mark of the third period.

- Borgiel and the Friar defense held strong throughout the third period. Tanner Adams closed the game out with an empty-net goal at 18:17, his team-high fifth goal of the season, to give Providence a 3-0 lead.

- Providence earned its first six-point Hockey East weekend since November 19-20, 2021.

- Elger has now scored in four-consecutive games.

- Chase Yoder had a game-high six shots on goal and was 16-of-22 at the faceoff dot.
