Five student-athletes have signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence College and compete for the women's basketball program.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College second-year women's basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced today [Nov. 13] that five student-athletes have signed athletic aid agreements during the November signing period. Batth's incoming class includes Ashley Dinges (Haverhill, Mass.), Riley Hamburger (Aldie, Va.), Sami Mancini (Webb City, Mo.), Princess Moody (La Plata, Md.) and Olivia Rodrigues (New Bedford, Mass.).
"Overall, I love this recruiting class," Batth said. "Each player has a set of unique skills and abilities and I'm excited to see them come together to help take this program to a new level. I would like to say thank you to all the families that have joined our program and my staff for their hard work."
Dinges, Hamburger, Moody and Rodrigues will attend Providence College in the fall of 2025. Mancini will enroll early and join the Friars for the second semester of the current academic year.
Dinges, a 6-1 small forward, started her high school career at Central Catholic before moving on to Noble and Greenough School. As a junior in 2023-24, Dinges averaged a double-double on 15.2 points and 10.9 rebounds per game and contributed 3.4 steals and 2.8 rebounds per game. At Nobles, she was a two-time All-Independent School League (ISL) selection and two-time All-NEPSAC honoree. She helped guide Noble and Greenough to back-to-back ISL and NEPSAC Championships (2023, 2024). Dinges also earned NEPSAC Class AA Playoff MVP honors (2023) and has been recognized as a Boston Globe All-Star in addition to Boston Globe All-Scholastic and Boston Herald All-Scholastic. She played AAU for MCW Stars.
"Ashley is such a tough player and she's going to fit very well in our system," Batth said. "She has the ability to post up and shoot the three. She also is going to be very disruptive for us on the defensive side of the ball and will be a terror on the boards. Ashley has a high IQ, but what I love most about her is her willingness to do the little things and she is a great team player."
Hamburger, a 6-0 guard, currently attends St. Paul VI Catholic High School. As a junior in 2023-24, she averaged 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. In 80 career games, Hamburger has totaled 464 points, 210 rebounds and 201 assists. The three-year starter is a two-time Virginia All-State Selection (2022, 2024) and All-Conference honoree (2024). She played AAU for Team Takeover.
"Riley is a long, athletic wing player who will force our opponents to guard her beyond the arc and attacking the rim," Batth said. "She has a high motor and uses her length to get deflections and steals. She has a great ability to turn defense into offense with great pace in transition. She's tough on the boards and she will help us become a much faster and aggressive team."
Mancini, a 6-5 center, most recently attended Webb City High and will enroll at Providence College for the second semester and join the women's basketball team. She will red-shirt during the 2024-25 season and have four years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2025-26 campaign. This past summer she played AAU on the Adidas circuit for Lady Push (3SSB). In her three seasons of high school basketball, Mancini claimed All-Area, All-Conference, All-District and All-State recognition. She averaged 16.0 points and 12.0 boards per game while shooting 70-percent from the field.
"Sami is a mobile post player with a high basketball IQ, who attracts a lot of attention inside the paint," Batth said. "She has the ability to make good passes out of the double-teams, which will continue to enhance our inside-out game. She shoots the ball at a high percentage and can also step out and hit the three."
Moody, a 5-8 guard, currently attends Bishop McNamara High School and played AAU for Team Takeover. She paced her team in steals per game, ranked second in three-point percentage and averaged 11.0 points per game. The four-year varsity team member earned Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Honorable Mention honors and also was selected to the WCAC All-Tournament Team.
"Princess is very athletic and possesses a high IQ," Batth said. "She pushes the ball in transition, shoots the three and gets downhill when going to the basket. She is very active on both ends of the court and will be a great floor general for us. She loves to be in the gym and has great work ethic. Her pace of play and aggressiveness is something we are really looking forward to when she steps on the floor."
Rodrigues, a 6-1 guard, currently attends Tabor Academy and played AAU for the Bay State Jaguars. She averaged 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game as a junior in 2023-24. She has earned a host of accolades including NEPSAC First-Team, NEPSAC AA All-Star and All-ISL First-Team during her career.
"Olivia is a Swiss Army Knife who can do it all," Batth said. "She takes great pride in her defense and is a tough, physical player who can score at all three levels. She's an offensive threat that has the ability to make everyone around her better. We love her pace and her ability to push in transition and she is very aggressive on the offensive boards."
