Ryan O’Reilly scored twice for the Friars on Friday.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 12 Providence College men's hockey team skated to a win on Friday (Nov. 1) at Schneider Arena, besting New Hampshire in a 6-3 victory. Logan Will recorded three assists and Ryan O'Reilly notched a pair of goals in the win.

NOTES

- Providence broke onto the scoreboard early in the first period, as Tanner Adams caught a piece of an Andrew Centrella shot, re-directing it to the wide post and ringing it off to put the Friars up 1-0. Nick Poisson also logged an assist on the play.

- The Friars doubled their lead at the 9:27 mark in the first period, as Ryan O'Reilly skated into the attacking zone with the puck before slinging it on net, beating New Hampshire's Jared Whale high glove-side. Logan Will and Guillaume Richard each tallied assists on the score.

- Providence extended their lead just over four minutes later, as Will Elger put away a Taige Harding rebound for his third of the season. Clint Levens also assisted in the effort.

- The Friars tacked on their fourth goal of the evening 2:34 into the second period, as Clint Levens cleaned up rebounds from Aleksi Kivioja and Austen May in front to pocket his first goal of the 2024-25 season. The goal marked Levens' first NCAA goal while Kivioja tallied his first-career point.

- Providence continued their offensive showing 2:11 later, as Andrew Centrella caught a piece of a low shot from Logan Will to give the forward his first goal of the season. Logan Sawyer found Will on the scoring play. The goal was also Centrella's first in his career.

- The Wildcats showed signs of life 25 seconds later, as Ryan Conmy connected on a one-timer from Liam Devlin to pull the score to 5-1.

- The Friars added another goal at the 8:48 mark in the second period, as O'Reilly danced around a defender before pulling DiMatteo out of position, beating him on the backhand low blocker-side for his second of the game.

- New Hampshire found their second of the night with just over two minutes to go in the second frame, as Liam Devlin recovered the puck before beating Svedebäck up close for his first of the year.

- The Wildcats added their third score of the game midway through the third period, as Conmy put away a one-timer opportunity for his second of the game, bringing about the final 6-3 score.

- Philip Svedebäck finished the night stopping 21-of-24 shots, good for a .875 save percentage.

- Twelve Friars scored a point in the 6-3 win, headlined by a three-assist performance from Logan Will. Five Friars finished the night with multiple points, including Ryan O'Reilly's two-goal effort.

- Sixteen different Friars landed a shot on net in the win, including a five-shot performance from Logan Sawyer and three-shot showings from a trio of players.
