STORRS, CONN. – The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by UConn, 3-0, on Friday, Sept. 27 in Storrs, Conn. 
Shea Dupuis paced the Friars with 9 kills.
 
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Connecticut won the first set, 25-21.
	- UConn jumped out to a 4-1 lead.
- The Friars responded with four quick points to take the lead, 5-4.
- The two teams exchanged kills to tie the match 10-10.
- The Huskies went on a 7-1 run to take a 17-11 lead, forcing Providence to take a timeout.
- The Friars went on a 9-5 rally to narrow the score to 22-20.
- UConn maintained its lead and won the set, 25-21.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:Connecticut took the second set, 25-18.
	- The Huskies got out to a quick 9-3 lead.
- The Friars narrowed the learn to 8-6
- UConn responded by going on a 7-1 run to take a 15-7 advantage.
- The Huskies extended their lead to 18-9.
- The Friars went on a 5-2 run to chip away at the lead (20-14).
- UConn takes the set 25-18.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Connecticut won the third set, 25-17, to capture the match, 3-0.
	- The two teams reached a tie to begin the match 3-3.
- UConn recorded a 5-0 run to take an 8-3 run.
- The Huskies extended their lead to 18-10, forcing Providence to call a timeout.
- Coming out the timeout, the Friars went on a 5-3 rally to chip away at UConn's lead (21-15).
- UConn won the set 25-17. 
MATCH NOTES:
	- Shea Dupuis led the Friars offense with 9 kills.
- Jiji Lykins and Miller McDonald recorded 12 digs.
- McDonald led the Friars with 28 assists giving her over 1000 career assists.
- Providence recorded 34 kills, 56 blocks and six aces.

Creighton: 15-2 (3-2 BIG EAST)
