PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's soccer team (7-4-2, 2-1-1 BIG EAST) is set to take on BIG EAST foe, St. John's (5-5-3, 3-1-0 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Oct. 19 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The game is slated for 12:00 p.m. and will stream on the BIG EAST Digital Network.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS
Providence enters the week with a 7-4-2 overall record including a 2-1-1 mark in BIG EAST Play. The Friars are coming off a 1-0 win at Marquette in a weather-shortened match on Oct. 12.

Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal), leads Providence in points (12), goals (four) and assists (four). Graduate
Pepe Lora (Madrid, Spain) is second on the squad with six points on three goals.
Goalkeeper
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) has appeared in all 13 games for the Friars. He currently boasts a 0.731 save percentage and a 1.09 goals against average. Burns recorded his fourth shutout of the season when he made a game-high five save in the win at Marquette. Burns was deemed the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year earlier this season.

The Friars are currently receiving two votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll. They previously held the No. 18 ranking on September 24 and the No.21 ranking on October 1.

SCOUTING THE RED STORM
St. John's enters this week with a 5-5-3 overall record, a 3-1-0 mark in BIG EAST action and a 1-2-2 road record. The Red Storm is currently ranked first in the BIG EAST East Division.
The Red Storm is coming off a BIG EAST win over DePaul, 4-1, in Queens, N.Y. on Oct. 12.
Junior Miguel Diaz and redshirt-freshman Tyler Morck lead the SJU offense with 11 and nine points, respectively. Morck was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Oct.14 after he recorded three points on the game-winning goal and an assist in the team's win over DePaul.
Junior Alec McLachlan has been the sole goalkeeper for the Johnnies, playing all 1,170 minutes. He holds a 1.23 goals-against average, having allowed 16 goals across 13 games. McLachlan currently boasts a total of 31 saves for a save percentage of .660.
UP NEXT…
The Friars will head to Storrs, Conn. to take on the UConn Huskies (7-2-4, 2-1-1 BIG EAST) in a mid-week matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The game will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. and stream on FloSports.
The Huskies hold a 24-8-2 all-time advantage over the Friars. The last meeting between the two teams was last season when Providence defeated UConn, 3-1, in Providence, R.I.
