Gillian Kenney recorded two goals.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team beat Quinnipiac, 3-0, on Aug. 20 on Chapey Field at Anderson Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars open their season at 2-0 for the first time since 2020-21.
"I feel great," Head Coach Sam Lopes said. "Any time you can get three points and go 2-0 on the week it's great. I'm really proud of the performance from our team."

GAME FLOW AND NOTES
-Gillian Kenney (Hanover Mass.) opened the scoring for the Friars to give them a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. Kayla Briggs (Ontario, Canada) earned the assist.
-Kenney scored her second goal of the game to give the Friars a 2-0 lead just 10 minutes later. Briggs earned her second assist of the game and fourth of the season.
-Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.) scored the third goal of the game off a penalty kick, her second goal of the season. Kayla Briggs drew the penalty after being taken down inside the box.
-The duo of Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, Pa.) and Katherine McElroy (Brookline, Mass.) combined for the team's second clean sheet to begin the season.
-Kenney registered her second two-goal game, her first since a two-goal effort at Boston University on September 9, 2021.
