PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team beat the University of Rhode Island 1-0 on Sunday, August 27 in Kingston, R.I.
Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass) moved up into the top 10 all-time in career scoring at Providence College (47 points), tallying the Friars' lone goal.
"It was a difficult road game," Head Coach
Sam Lopes said. "URI started off very well with tons of energy. We grew into the game and scored a great goal. Our second half was very good as we created many chances and defended well in transition. I'm proud of the resilience and character of the group in earning a tough road win."
