Sirtautaite recently competed in the FIBA U19 World Cup and averaged 10.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for Lithuania.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – First-year Providence College Head Coach Erin Batth has rounded out her roster for the 2023-24 season. She announced today [July 24] that Ugne Sirtautaite has signed with the program and will have four years of NCAA eligibility.

Sirtautaite, a 6-2 forward, has represented Lithuania at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship (2019), FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers (2021), FIBA U18 Women's European Championship (2022) and most recently the FIBA U19 World Cup held in Madrid, Spain from July 15-July 23.

Sirtautaite played a prominent role at the World Cup for Lithuania, averaging 10.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. She shot 43.3-percent from the field (23-53) and 40-percent from three-point territory (2-5). Sirtautaite scored a personal-best 19 points on 7-10 shooting during the Round of 16 vs. Egypt (July 19) and hauled in a personal-best 11 rebounds during classification play against Mali (July 22). Sirtautaite recorded one double-double during the World Cup with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Italy in the Group Phase.

Sirtautaite finished tied for third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding. Additionally, her 7.7 rebounds per game ranked 12th-best among all players in the World Cup.

Sirtautaite helped Lithuania claim the Gold Medal at the European Championship (2022), while averaging 12.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. In a 78-75 victory over Spain in the Gold Medal game, she netted 17 points on 8-11 shooting and recorded five rebounds and two assists.

Sirtautaite's first stint with Lithuania's U18 squad was at the FIBA Women's European Challengers (2021). She averaged 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.2 steals per game. She netted a tournament-best 14 points against Turkey to go along with seven rebounds.

"We are excited to be a part of the next chapter in Ugne's career, both academically and athletically," Batth said. "She is such a versatile player with her ability to post up and shoot the three, which will allow us to stretch the floor. Ugne is a solid rebounder and can guard on the perimeter and in the paint. She has a high basketball IQ and it was exciting to watch her compete in the World Cup. Ugne has a strong basketball pedigree, as her father, Darius, played professionally and also coached in the professional ranks."

Heading into the 2023-24 season, Batth has signed three players [including Sirtautaite] to join a group of eight returning players and four freshmen. Batth's first commitment as head coach at Providence came from Wake Forest transfer Marta Morales Romeo (Granada, Spain) and followed with a commitment from Sarah Bandoma (Johnston, R.I.), who transferred from St. Francis College Brooklyn. Bandoma is a local product, who played her high school basketball at Johnston Senior High School.
