Men's Basketball To Play Kansas State In Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship On Nov. 17

The Friars could face Georgia or Miami in the championship or consolation game on Nov. 19.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College will join Miami, Kansas State, and Georgia on Nov. 17 and 19 in the four-team 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship, at the Baha Mar Convention Arts & Entertainment Center in Nassau, Bahamas.
CBS Sports Network will televise all four games of the event beginning with first-round action Friday, Nov. 17. Miami will battle Georgia at 3:30 p.m. ET followed by Kansas State taking on Providence at 6 p.m. The consolation game on Sunday, Nov. 19 tips at noon followed by the championship game at 2:30 p.m.
The Friars made their seventh NCAA tournament appearance since 2014 in 2023 while posting a 21-12 mark.
Kansas State reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in March, tied for third in the Big 12 Conference, and capped its season with a 26-10 record.
The Friars have faced Kansas State once before on March 12, 1977, at the NCAA Tournament. The Friars were defeated by the Wildcats, 87-80.
Miami advanced to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in program history in 2022-23. The Hurricanes won the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championship and posted a 29-8 overall mark.
Providence last met the Hurricanes last season on Nov, 19, 2022 at the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Friars were defeated by the Hurricanes 64-74. The Friars have posted a 16-16 mark overall versus Miami.
Georgia posted a 16-16 record in 2022-23, achieving the program's most wins in three seasons.
The Friars and the Bulldogs have never played.
