PROVIDENCE, R.I -- It was announced today (May 18) that the Providence College men's basketball team will be participating in the 2026 Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The Friars will play the Universtiy of Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, November 7. The game will be part of doubleheader that also will feature the University of Rhode Island versus Monmouth University.
"We are looking forward to playing Nebraska in November in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun," Providence College Head Coach
Bryan Hodgson said. "Coach Hoiberg does a phenomenal job and it will be a great non-conference test for us as we will play a quality Big Ten opponent early in the season. Having coached in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off last season, I was impressed with the arena and the first-class event that the Hall of Fame put together. I know Friar fans enjoy going to Mohegan Sun and I am sure they will be looking forward to this matchup."
The game will mark the first time in program history that these two teams will be facing each other.
Last year, the Friars participated in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off for the fifth time and were defeated by Virginia Tech (107-101) in OT.
Ticket info for the Hall of Fame Tip-Off will be released at a later date.
