PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's soccer sophomores, Ella McBride (Peterborough, Canada) and Thaea Mouratidis (Scarborough, Canada), and incoming freshman Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) have been selected to the CONCACAF 21-player squad for the 2023 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. The championship will take place in the Dominican Republic from May 24 to June 3.

The Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship provides an important development step towards future Concacaf and FIFA youth competitions and more importantly a step towards competing at the international level for Canada Soccer's Women's National Team at Concacaf, FIFA and Olympic tournaments.

Players in the competitions are all born in 2004 or later, with each Concacaf nation selecting players for the Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship.

Mouratidis and McBride both wrapped up their first season with the Friars last fall. Mouratidis played in all 18 games for the Friars with 12 appearances in the starting lineup. She tallied 1,246 minutes at midfield and attempted 12 shots. McBride played in eight games for the Friars with seven appearances in the starting lineup. She scored her first collegiate goal against Marquette on Oct. 13 and was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.

Briggs will begin her career with the Friars this fall. She will join the team as a forward from Toronto, Canada.
