PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced Wednesday, March 29 that Providence College junior
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) was named BIG EAST Men's Track Athlete of the Week. Thygesen earned the honors after his performance at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. this past weekend March 23-25.
Thygesen placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal record of 8:33.78. Thygesen's performance ranks second fastest time collegiately this season and second fastest all-time in program history.
The Friars are back in action Sunday, April 2 at the Bryant University Black and Gold Invitational in Smithfield, R.I.
