PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College senior co-captain
Max Crozier (Calgary, Alta.) has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning that will begin in the 2023-24 season as announced by Lightning General Manager Julien BriseBois on Tuesday (March 21). Crozier will join Syracuse (AHL) on an Amateur Tryout (ATO) for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Crozier posted a career-high 24 points on three goals and 21 assists with a +10 rating during his fourth season at Providence in 2022-23. The senior also led the team with 61 blocked shots, totaling 135 in his career. Crozier was also a two-time Hockey East Defender of the Week selection and back-to-back Hockey East Third Team All-Star honoree.
Originally a fourth round selection by the Lightning (120
th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft, Crozier appeared in 119 games at Providence, totaling 17 goals and 54 assists for 71 points with a +35 rating. As a junior in 2021-22, Crozier served as an alternate captain and registered a career-high seven goals.
