No.13 Women’s Hockey Falls To No.15 Boston College, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No.13 Providence College women's hockey team fell to No.15 Boston College, 5-2, on Friday, Feb. 17 at Schneider Arena.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
 
-The Eagles got on board first with a goal from Gaby Roy 8:04 into the first period. Cayla Barnes and Kelly Browne assisted the goal. 
 
-Boston College's Katie Pyne scored at 15:12 for a 2-0 lead. 
 
-Alex Guay recorded the Eagles' third goal of the period at 17:35, with help from Hannah Bilka and Katie Pyne.
 
-Boston College led 3-0 heading into the first intermission. 
 
-Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) replaced Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) in net at the start of the second period. It marked Walinski's first career game. 
 
-Noemi Neubauerova (Prague, Czech Republic) put the Friars on the board at the 14:09 mark of the second period with a power play goal (3-1). Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) and Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) were each credited with an assist. 
 
-The Eagles took a 4-1 lead 3:03 into the final period with a goal by Abby Newhook. 
 
-Newhook converted on a power play at 10:48, 5-1. Caroline DiFore and Hannah Bilka assisted the play. 
 
-Rachel Weiss (Calgary, Alberta) netted the final goal of the day at the 18:18 mark of the third period. Ida Press (Uppsala, Sweden) and Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) each tallied an assist to make the final score 5-2.
 
- Abstreiter recorded nine saves and Walinski finished with 10 saves.
