PROVIDENCE, R.I.–The Providence College women's hockey team will travel to Northeastern University for a mid-week matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5:00 p.m. at Matthews Arena.
Scouting The Friars
The Friars are currently 5-9-0 and 4-5-0 in Hockey East play. Last weekend, the Friars shutout Brown University (1-0) on Saturday, Nov. 25 in the 28
th annual Mayor's Cup.
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded 21 saves on Saturday.
Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) recorded the lone goal while
Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and
Maddy Coene (Clayton, N.Y.) assisted the play.
Hockey East Preseason Poll
The Friars were picked to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Friars, who received 74 points, were picked to finish behind Northeastern (88) and Vermont (75). The Huskies, who won the 2023 Hockey East Tournament, received eight first place votes.
Rounding out the poll was UConn (65), Boston University (59), Boston College (58), Maine (38), New Hampshire (35), Merrimack (28) and Holy Cross (20).
Fresh Friar Faces
Providence welcomes nine new players (two transfers and six freshmen) to the roster for the 2023-24 season.
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a graduate student from University of Wisconsin and
Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) a junior from Syracuse University. The six freshmen are

Hockey East Award Winners
Audrey Knapp was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced on Oct. 23 for scoring three goals in two games.
Knapp earned Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Nov. 27 for scoring the lone goal and game-winner against Brown University.
Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies enter the single-game matchup at 9-8-0 (5-6-0 HEAW). This past weekend, Northeastern defeated Boston College, 3-1, on Saturday, Nov. 25.
Who to Watch
Skylar Irving leads the Huskies with 13 points consisting of three goals and 10 assists. Peyton Anderson follows with nine goals and three assists for 12 points.
Goaltender Gwyneth Philips has started between the pipes in 17 games. Philips has recorded 380 saves this season for a .950 save percentage and a 1.19 GAA.
All-Time Series with the Huskies
Providence and Northeastern are currently tied in the all-time series record, 70-70-12. The last time the Friars faced Northeastern they split the weekend. On Friday, Nov. 10, Northeastern won 6-1. Providence then won (3-1) on Saturday, Nov. 11.
