TEMPE, Ariz. – Dylan Jackson scored at 3:17 of overtime as No. 13 Arizona State defeated the No. 9 Providence College men's hockey team, 4-3, on Friday (Nov. 24) at Mullett Arena.

NOTES

- The Friars held a 14-11 advantage in shots through 20 minutes of play.

- Bennett Schimek had two of the better looks for the Friars in the first period, but was denied by Semptimphelter on a breakaway and a 2-on-1 opportunity.

- Arizona State's Alex Young gave the hosts at 1-0 lead at 13:41 on a wrister from just inside the blue line.

- Sophomore Austen May knotted the game at 1-1 on the power play at 7:40 of the second period for his first goal of the season. Nick Poisson and Jaroslav Chmelar earned the assists.

- The Friars took the lead at 12:05 as Hudson Malinoski finished off a saucer pass from Nick Poisson during an odd-man rush for his fifth tally of the season.

- ASU equalized just 2:28 later as Young registered his second goal of the night to make it 2-2.

- Graham Gamache re-directed a shot from the half wall by May with 1:25 left in the period to give Providence a 3-2 lead.

- Tyler Gratton leveled the game once again at 3-3 at the 7:33 mark of the third period.

- Chase Yoder appeared to give the Friars a lead a few minutes later, but the Sun Devils won a successful challenge for offsides.

- Dylan Jackson converted on a breakaway during a delayed penalty in overtime to give the Sun Devils the victory.

- Providence appeared in its fifth overtime game of the season (1-2-2).

- The Friars have dropped three-consecutive contests.
