PROVIDENCE, R.I.– Women's Hockey will face the University of New Hampshire in a home-and-home series next weekend. The Friars will host the Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 3 for a 6:00 p.m. puck drop before traveling to Durham, N.H. on Saturday, Nov. 4 for a 7:00 p.m. start.
Scouting The Friars
The Friars are currently 1-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in Hockey East. Last weekend the Friars lost to UConn, 6-1, in a single game matchup in Storrs, Conn on Oct. 27.
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished the night with 7 saves while
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) finished with 14 saves.
KC Brooks (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored the lone goal for the Friars and
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) earned an assist.
Hockey East Preseason Poll
The Friars were picked to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Friars, who received 74 points, were picked to finish behind Northeastern (88) and Vermont (75). The Huskies, who won the 2023 Hockey East Tournament, received eight first place votes.
Rounding out the poll was UConn (65), Boston University (59), Boston College (58), Maine (38), New Hampshire (35), Merrimack (28) and Holy Cross (20).
Fresh Friar Faces
Providence welcomes eight new players (two transfers and six freshmen) to the roster for the 2023-24 season.
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a graduate student from University of Wisconsin and
Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) a junior from Syracuse University. The six freshmen are

Dylan Berman (Deephaven, Minn.),

Lily Hendrikson (Edina, Minn.).
Hockey East Award Winners
Audrey Knapp was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced on Oct. 23 for scoring three goals in two games.
Scouting the Wildcats
The Huskies enter the weekend at 4-5-1 (2-3-1 HEAW). Last weekend, New Hampshire was swept by Vermont. On Friday, Oct. 27 the Wildcats lost 6-3 and lost 2-1 in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 28.
Who to Watch
Kira Juodikis leads the Wildcats in points with six goals and three assists. Following Juodikis in points is Sydney Leonard with three goals and four assists and Marina Alvarez with one goal and six assists.
Goaltender Sedona Blair has started between the pipes in every game. Blair has recorded 245 saves this season for a .901 save percentage and a 2.70 GAA.
All-Time Series with the Wildcats
New Hampshire currently leads the all-time series record against Providence 91-66-14. The Friars won their last matchup against the Wildcats, 7-4 on Jan. 27.
