Family Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn. on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m.
Scouting The Friars
The Friars are currently 1-5-0 overall and 1-1-0 in Hockey East. The Friars split last weekend with Maine. On Friday, Oct. 20 the Friars took a 4-3 loss to the Black Bears. The Friars then picked up their first win of the season, 3-2, on Saturday, Oct. 21.
On Friday,
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) recorded 22 saves and holds a .930 save percentage on the season. On Saturday,
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished the day with 24 saves and has a .895 save percentage on the season.
Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) leads the Friars in points with four goals.
KC Brooks (Colorado Springs, Colo.),
Ashley Clark (North Weymouth, Mass.) and
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) follow with three points.
Hockey East Preseason Poll
The Friars were picked to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Friars, who received 74 points, were picked to finish behind Northeastern (88) and Vermont (75). The Huskies, who won the 2023 Hockey East Tournament, received eight first place votes.
Rounding out the poll was UConn (65), Boston University (59), Boston College (58), Maine (38), New Hampshire (35), Merrimack (28) and Holy Cross (20).
Fresh Friar Faces
Providence welcomes eight new players (two transfers and six freshmen) to the roster for the 2023-24 season.
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a graduate student from University of Wisconsin and
Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) a junior from Syracuse University. The six freshmen are

Peyton Blaney (Millgrove, Ontario),
Dylan Berman (Deephaven, Minn.),

Captains Named

Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) and senior
Rachel Weiss (Calgary, Alberta) were named captains for the 2023-24 season, along with alternate captains
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) and
Lily Hendrikson (Edina, Minn.).
Hockey East Award Winners
Audrey Knapp was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced on Oct. 23 for scoring three goals in two games.
Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies enter the weekend at 2-3-1 (1-3-0 HEAW). Last weekend, UConn split the weekend against New Hampshire. On Friday, Oct. 20 the Huskies lost 2-0 before winning 4-0 on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Who to Watch
Jada Habisch leads the Huskies in points with two goals and two assists. Following Habisch in points is Ashley Allard, Kathryn Stockdale, Brooke Campbell, Riley Grimley and Coryn Tormala, all with three points.
Goaltenders Tia Chan and Megan Warrener have both spent time between the pipes. Chan has played in five games for UConn. She has recorded 137 saves this season for a .938 save percentage and a 1.76 GAA. Warrener recorded a shutout and tallied 26 saves in her first appearance this season on Saturday, Oct. 21.
All-Time Series with the Huskies
Providence currently leads the all-time series record against UConn 49-24-11. The last time the Friars faced off against the Huskies was January 2023. The Friars tied the Huskies 2-2.
