Last Time Out…
- The Friars remain perfect at home on the young 2023-24 season, dispatching visiting Denver (3-1-0, 0-0-0 NCHC) in a 4-3 win on Friday and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (0-4-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) in a 4-2 victory on Saturday.
- Providence's penalty-kill was the talk of the weekend, as their unit killed 15-of-16 extra attacker opportunities and registered a pair of shorthanded goals over both games.
- Six Friars found the back of the net this weekend, paced by
Chase Yoder and
Hudson Malinoski, each with two goals.
- Denver's Shai Buium opened Friday's scoring on the power-play, giving the Pioneers an early 1-0 lead over the Friars.
- Providence knotted the game late in the first period with a power-play goal from freshman
Hudson Malinoski.
- Midway through the second period Denver's Jack Devine scored the go-ahead for the Pioneers, giving them a 2-1 lead.

Jaroslav Chmelar responded for the Friars with six minute to go in the second period, giving the Friars a 2-2 tie with the Pioneers.

Riley Duran lit the lamp just under nine minutes into the third period, giving the Friars their first lead of the evening.
- With a little over five minutes remaining in regulation play,
Tanner Adams converted on the power-play late in the third period, converting Providence's second extra attacker opportunity of the evening and awarding the Friars a 4-2 lead.
- Following Denver's pulling of goaltender Matt Davis, Massimo Rizzo brought the Pioneers within a goal at the 16:32 mark in the third period, bringing about Friday's final 4-3 decision.
- Rensselaer jumped to an early 2-0 lead in Saturday's contest with first period goals coming from Danny Ciccarello and Ryan Brushett.

Tanner Adams Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week
Tanner Adams earned Hockey East Rookie of the Week accolades after his three-point performance in Providence's 4-3 win over No. 2 Denver last Friday. Adams tallied the game-winning power-play goal in the third period and added two assists.

Scouting the Catamounts…
- Hockey East opponent University of Vermont (1-1-0, 0-0-0 HEA) comes into their matchup with Providence following a weekend where the Catamounts didn't see play.
- The Catamounts last played on October 13-14, where they beat St. Lawrence in a 3-1 road contest and dropped to Clarkson University in a 3-2 overtime defeat.
- Through the team's two games, junior forward Simon Jellus (2-0-2) and senior forward Will Zapernick (0-2-2) pace the Catamounts with two points apiece. Jellus leads Vermont in goals scored while Zapernick leads the team in assists.
