PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College women's hockey team picked up its first win of the season over the University of Maine, 3-2, on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished the day with 24 saves.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-The Friars struck first when Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) netted a goal 7:10 into the first period. Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) was credited with the assist.
-Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) scored her first goal of the season 3:19 into the second period to put the Friars ahead, 2-0. Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) assisted the goal.
-The Friars went up 3-0 at the 6:47 mark of the second period when KC Brooks (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored with help from Lily Hendrikson (Edina, Minn).
-Maine's Ann-Frederique Guay converted on a power play at 13:13 to make the score 3-1. Alyssa Wruble and Elise Morphy were each credited with an assist.
-With one minute left in the second, Maine's Ann-Frederique Guay scored on a penalty shot after Ashley Clark (North Weymouth, Mass.) was called for slashing.
-Providence carried a 3-2 lead into the third period.
-Both teams skated through the third period scoreless.
