Men’s Basketball Enters The Rankings At No. 19 in Associated Press Poll and No. 19 In The Coaches Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's basketball team is ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 19 in the most recent Coaches Poll. Both polls were released today (January 9). The Friars, who were ranked for 13 weeks during the regular season last year, finished the 2022-23 season ranked No. 13 in both polls. Last week, the Friars earned wins over then No. 4/5 UConn (73-61) on January 4 and St. John's (83-80) on January 7.

The Friars (14-3, 6-0) have won nine straight games and are in first place in the BIG EAST. The team has won its first six games in conference play for the first time in the history of the program. Providence has posted Quad 1 wins at home versus UConn and Marquette and on the road at Seton Hall and Butler. The Friars have a NCAA NET ranking of 34.

The Friars will return to action at Creighton on Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. on FS1.
