PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Twelve members of the Providence College field hockey team were named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) announced its selections on Feb. 8. Additionally, the field hockey program was awarded the NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for achieving a team GPA above a 3.0 for the 2021 fall semester. The team earned a GPA of 3.35 overall.
Graduate students
Marlies Kool (Den Bosch, The Netherlands) and
Olivia Ward (Havelock North, New Zealand), juniors
Brenna Cavallaro (Matamoras, Pa.),
Tori Colautti (Westminster, Mass.) and
Lisa McNamara (Barre, Vt.) each were recognized on the Division I National Academic squad, along with sophomores
Emily Antunes (Lebanon, N.J.),
Bella Carrozza (Ridgefield, Conn.), Eléonore De Keyser (Brussels, Belgium),
Roos Michiels (Oisterwijk, The Netherlands) and
Marley Mailloux (Hampstead, N.H.) and freshmen
Bella DelNegro (Sterling, Mass.), Taylor LiGozio (Basking Ridge, N.J.).
Each of the players recognized achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the fall 2021 semester.
Providence College concluded its season with an 8-10 overall record and 2-5 in the BIG EAST. They finished the season strong with a 5-2 win over Quinnipiac and a 6-1 win over Dartmouth.
