PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team defeated Creighton, 4-2, on Wednesday, Nov. 2 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. With the win, the Friars clinched the No. 5 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament and will play on the road at No. 4 seed Butler on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m.

- The Friars had a strong start with two goals in the first 13 minutes of action.

Kevin Vang (Cranston, R.I.) notched his first goal of the season out of the gate, getting the ball to the back of the net in the 7
th minute.

Armaan Wilson (Kleinburg, Ontario) followed suit, giving the Friars a 2-0 lead in the 13
th minute off a dish from

- Creighton responded in the 29
th minute after converting on a penalty kick after a Friar foul.
- The Friars brought the lead back to two after a shot from
Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J.) deflected off

- Despite the Bluejays outshooting the Friars 10-6 in the first half, the Friars maintained their 3-1 lead into the second half.
- Creighton's Mark O'Neil received a red card in the 57
th minute, giving the Friars an 11-on-10 advantage for the rest of the game.
- The second half remained scoreless until the 68
th minute when Diarbian made a nearly full-field break past the Bluejay defense to notch the fourth Friar goal of the game.
- Callum Watson made a late push in the 75
th minute to cut Creighton's deficit to two.
- The Friar defense was able to remain strong against Creighton's 16 total shots (11 landing on goal), spearheaded by
Rimi Olatunji (Brampton, Ontario), who made a season-high nine saves.
