PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's basketball team defeated Stonehill, 56-32, on Nov. 11 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The Friars improved to 2-0 on the season. The Skyhawks, who are in their inaugural NCAA Division I season, dropped to 0-2.

1ST QUARTER:
• Olivia Olsen scored back-to-back buckets for the Friars to open the game (4-0), but Stonehill answered with five-straight to take a 5-4 advantage.
• Brynn Farrell responded with seven-straight points to give Providence an 11-5 lead with 6:08 on the clock.
• The Skyhawks tied the game, 15-15, but the Friars closed the quarter on a 5-0 run.
• Logan Cook scored four of Providence's five points in the run and PC took a 20-15 advantage into the intermission.
• Twelve of Stonehill's 15 points came from beyond the three-point arc (4-8).
2ND QUARTER:
• Providence extended its scoring run into the second quarter (16-0) to mount a 31-15 lead.
• Stonehill scored its first points of the frame with 3:52 remaining on the clock, sparking a 9-0 run (31-24) to close the half.
• Providence was scoreless for the final 4:48 of the quarter.
• Olsen and Farrell paced the Friars with seven points each in the opening 20 minutes of play.
• Maddie Loder scored 15 points to lead Stonehill.
3RD QUARTER:
• Stonehill cut the deficit to five to open the third, but the Friars exploded to score seven-straight points (38-26).
• Providence outscored the Skyhawks 14-6 in the third quarter to take a 45-30 lead into the final frame.
4TH QUARTER:
• Providence outscored Stonehill 11-2 in the fourth quarter to earn the 56-32 victory.
NOTES:
• Providence starts the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season. That year, PC got out to a 6-0 start.
• The Friars held Stonehill to eight points in the second half.
• Farrell scored in double figures for the second-straight game (12) and added a career-high seven rebounds and three steals.
• Olsen paced the Friars with 13 points on 5-8 shooting and grabbed five rebounds and one steal.
• Janai Crooms completed the night with nine points, three rebounds and a team-high three assists and two blocked shots.
• Providence held a 30-8 scoring advantage in the paint and its bench outscored the Skyhawks' bench, 16-0.
UP NEXT:
• Providence will hit the road to face intrastate rival Rhode Island on Monday, Nov. 14. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. at the Ryan Center in Kingston, R.I. It marks the first of three-straight road games for the Friars, as they are scheduled to play at Iona (Nov. 17) and Boston College (Nov. 20).
