- The teams went through the middle period scoreless, with each team having one power play opportunity.
- Chmelar extended the Friar lead to 2-0 with his third goal of the season after ringing a shot off the post and in past Fessenden. Brett Berard and Taige Harding earned the assists.
- UNH responded at 8:23 of the third period to cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal from Damien Carfagna, who's point shot deflected off a Friar defenseman and past Svedebäck.
- Key shot blocks in the final minutes by Riley Duran and Chase Yoder gave the Friars a chance at the empty net and Chmelar finished things off with his second of the night and fourth of the season to cap the win for Providence.
